Wondering how easy it is to get from the airport to the Omni at CNN Center. Thank you
Airport to Omni at CNN Center
Just take MARTA from the airport - you can get on any train. Get off at Five Points station. Get on the Westbound train. Go one stop. It lets off right at the Omni. Look here: www.itsmarta.com
Airport to Omni at CNN Center
Thank you...it seems very simple. Can I assume that all stops and trains are easily recognizable? I%26#39;ve read that the MARTA system can be confusing. How easy will it be to find the transfer to the Westbound train?
Thank you
MARTA is not at all confusing. It%26#39;s the most basic public transit system I have ever experienced. All of the stops are clearly marked, and there is a loudspeaker announcement before each stop. No need to worry.
The MARTA train system is dead simple (the buses are another matter entirely). From the airport, get on any train -- the airport%26#39;s the end of the line, and all the trains go through Five Points station. When you get to Five Points, get off the train and follow the signs that direct you to the Westbound trains -- that%26#39;ll mean up an escalator or elevator one level to the Westbound platform for the East-West line. Get on the train, go one stop, get off again. You%26#39;re there.
There%26#39;s plentiful signage in each station, as well as audio announcements of each station as you approach. At each stop, there are signs indicating which station you%26#39;re in that are visible from inside the train, so you%26#39;ll have no trouble telling where you are. Bonus tip: Five Points station is the first station after you board at the airport where the doors open on both sides of the train -- if you see them both open, GET OFF! ;-)
Seriously, you shouldn%26#39;t have any trouble at all.
Thanks for all your help. If we want to visit the underground, we would just get on at the same station and take the East bound train 1 stop and we should be back at 5 points station?
Yep. Don%26#39;t get your hopes up too high for Underground, though. Not much of interest there anymore.
