Can you walk to Turner Field from the Holiday Inn Select near the park?
Holiday Inn Select Near Turner Field

Holiday Inn Select Near Turner Field
Thanks!!!
While this is an easy walk, the area around Turner Field is not an area in which you would want to find yourself walking at any time other than around a Braves game. Also, other than Turner Field, there%26#39;s nothing there. If I were you I would find a hotel in a safer neighborhood that would have places like restaurants etc. in walking distance.
I don%26#39;t generally disagree with JAtlanta%26#39;s comments about the Turner Field area, but the HI Select is a special case. It%26#39;s right on Capitol Avenue, the street that runs beside Turner Field on the east side. Between the HI Select and Turner Field there%26#39;s nothing but stadium parking lots, and on game days there are police directing traffic and managing the crowds every few feet. I%26#39;ve walked along this route from farther away (Ga State MARTA station or Five Points station) many times and never had any issues -- there%26#39;s always tons of other people walking the same route and the police presence deters most problems. Just don%26#39;t stray off of Capitol onto the other side streets nearby.
Actually, I see that JAtlanta specifically said she wouldn%26#39;t recommend walking around that area at times *other than game times*, and that other areas would offer more dining and entertainment options in walking distance for the rest of the time you%26#39;re here. With which I completely agree.
Agree -- neighborhood isnt great (as it is in most american cities near the stadiums), but if you are walking to the braves game there will be several thousand pedestrians with you and a heavy police presence. If you are staying there just to catch a game, it will be fine; but if you are spending several days in atlanta and taking in one braves game, I would stay elsewhere.
Yeah, I think this area is perfectly fine during game days. There%26#39;s a huge police presence, and lots of fans around. Other than when there is a game, though, I don%26#39;t like this area.
Where would yall recommend staying? We are coming for 3 nights...And going to six flags and a Braves game. We have only visited Atlanta for a Braves game and stayed in the hotels right beside the stadium for convience when the game was over. If we stay somewhere else is there some type of public transportation to and from the game?
I would recommend downtown or midtown. If you stay there, or Buckhead you can take MARTA to the Braves game. Just take MARTA to the Five Points Station, and there will be a ton of shuttle buses running to and from Turner Field for $1 per person.
I can%26#39;t say that the Turner Field area has gotten any worse in the past ten years, so it you thought the Turner Field area was fine last time, you%26#39;ll probably find it the same way today.
