Questions regarding Mrs. Wilkes

We will be back in Savannah in two weeks with my mother- in - law who is 85. We would love to have lunch at Mrs. Wilkes having heard all the great reviews. Is there parking in that area and a place to sit nearby while waiting? We plan to arrive at 10:30 as suggested for early seating.

I hate to have her stand for a long period of time.

Any suggestions?

I don%26#39;t have any idea where the Historic District is located and if there is parking in that area.

Thank you.

Questions regarding Mrs. Wilkes

There is on street parking in the area. If you get there that early you may get a spot pretty close. The people in the nearby homes will have left for work, leaving empty spots.

If you can park close, maybe your mom can sit in the car while you wait for a table, otherwise there are just peoples stoops to sit on.

Questions regarding Mrs. Wilkes

When I was there (couple of years ago) there was one bench to sit on and it was already occupied at 10:30am. Other than that, there were steps leading up to the 2nd floor...some were sitting on the steps. And then, aside from that, there is waiting in your car. Will you have a car with you? I%26#39;d try to get my hands on a lawn chair ... something that you could leave by the door while eating.

Thanks for the information. We will have our car so it looks like we will have her wait there.

How far is Mrs. Wilkes from River Street?

Thnaks.

It is about 15 to 20 blocks. How about a folding chair?

That%26#39;s a great idea as well. We have a place in Hilton Head so it%26#39;s easy to grab a folding chair and take it with us.

When we went last month, we called ahead because my dad is on oxygen. We had to wait in line, but they allowed Dad to sit inside on a seat right inside the door.

She is not in the same situation as your father but I%26#39;ll check and see what they say. Thank you
