Hello,
I will be flying from Sweden to Austin next October and I have 1 hour 40 minute ';layover'; in Atlanta. Will that be enough?
I flew in Atlanta a couple years ago and I remember the customs lines being very long...I think it took over an hour to get through.
I never had a connecting flight in the US before...I mean do I do the customs in Atlanta or in Austin?
I will only have carry on with me and I have all the flights in the same ticket. I mean it%26#39;s hard to believe they%26#39;d sell a ticket to me without thinking that I could make the flight...right...? :D
Personally I like the Atlanta airport...I think it%26#39;s easy to navigate so I guess I know where to run if I have to...
Thanks.
Connecting flight with 1hour 40 minute timeframe?
With only carryon luggage, you should be fine. You%26#39;ll go through customs in Atlanta and then head to your connecting gate -- assume you%26#39;re on Delta for the ATL-AUS leg as they%26#39;re the only carrier with direct flights to AUS from ATL. Looking around online, I%26#39;m pretty sure I know which flight you%26#39;re booked on for the ATL-AUS leg -- right now, it%26#39;s scheduled to be an MD-80, which will probably depart from Concourse A or B -- a bit farther hike from the international concourse (E) where you%26#39;ll be arriving, but it still should be manageable. Most of the other Delta flights to AUS each day are on CRJ700/900 series planes, with most of them departing from Concourse B these days (my company%26#39;s based in Austin, so I fly ATL-AUS at least a few times a year).
One thing to keep in mind with flights booked this far out is that airlines juggle schedules, equipment, etc. constantly, and your 1 hr 40 min layover could grow or shrink significantly between now and October. Keep checking Delta%26#39;s web site occasionally between now and then and contact them to rebook if the connection ends up being much tighter than that. This is especially true with Delta right now as they attempt to digest Northwest%26#39;s routes, crews, and equipment -- there%26#39;ve been nightmare stories recently among frequent flyers about equipment and schedules changing often and right up to departure date, invalidating seat assignments, connections, etc., and generally causing havoc with travel plans.

Thanks for the quick answer!
And thanks for the heads up about checking out the Delta schedules...I will do that regularly before the trip. Hope they schedule the flight a little bit later rather than earlier if they reschedule it...that way I have a little less tressful flight over the Atlantic ; )
