condo/townhouse

I live and work in Alabama and am wanting to buy a condo or townhouse since we are in Atlanta almost every weekend. I would like to stay in an area where we can walk to a park, restaurants, shopping, etc. but would like to be able to have some peace and quiet when it is time to sleep/rest. Any suggetions?

You really should talk to a real estate agent. If you pm me I can recommend mine. Midtown definitely fits the bill, but you have to be careful because there are so many interchangeable high-rise condos that have trouble re-selling. Atlantic Station has some really good deals if that interest you. Since you come to Atlanta every weekend, I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;re familiar with the neighborhoods. This really should be a decision you make with a RE agent.

The only intown neighboorhoods that I know of where you could walk to all of that stuff and still have some peace and quiet would be either the Virginia Highlands or Inman/Candler Park area.

Since you%26#39;re talking about a second home, I think the Atlantic Station rec is a good suggestion. We drove through there on Sunday and you have some great options for new or for established homes.

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to add that we have a dog that travels with us all the time, I wonder which of these areas would be most fun with a four-legged companion walking along side us.

Atlantic Station seems like a good option too, especially with the number of foreclosures in that area. I would also look at places near Piedmont Park for dog-friendly condos. I believe the dog park is under renovation, but they are expanding it.

There are several park options that would be great for a four legged compantion should you choose the Va Highlands or Inman/Candler park areas. The most notable and the largest is piedmont park which is located on the border of Va Highlands.
