Hotel Aiken?

Would like your impressions and comments about possible stay at Hotel Aiken. I know this is off topic for Augusta, but have seen many posts about Aiken here, hoped y%26#39;all would let it slide.

Have also posted in Aiken forum, but that one is very lightly used it seems.

Hotel Aiken?

are bed and breakfast of any interest to you at all? i%26#39;ve heard that there are several nice ones in the area

Hotel Aiken?

Will look into those. We typically don%26#39;t stay around the room enough to warrant extra cost.

While this time we may not travel with our bicycles, when we do it is easier to stay in the older motels with exterior doors to schlep in the bikes, cooler and all the other crap we usually bring.

I have only been there for drinks. It has a very cool lounge and is in a great location. My friend has stayed there and said she really didn%26#39;t like the rooms, but I would probably have no problem staying there.

I have stayed at the Hotel Aiken. The rooms were just OK - we stayed in the little ';annex'; across the parking lot - the rooms were about the same as you%26#39;d expect in a Motel 6.

The bar was really nice - I liked the clientele and liked their ';policies'; - they%26#39;re refreshingly ';conservative';, not allowing extra-saggy clothing or backwards-facing hats as I recall. The breakfast was good and was included in the price. The one really not nice thing was the ladies%26#39; rest room which was in need of a good scrubbing and a fan. And a second scrubbing and then some full-strength bleach on top of that. I do think that there were some renovations going on so maybe this is no longer a problem.
