I will be traveling to Savannah next week with my 2 kids, age 4 %26amp; 6. Anyone have any resturant recommendations for dinner? My kids are very well behaved and I am not just saying that because I am thier mom ;) I plan on seeing Tybee in the evening for the neat tide pools and maybe a little toe dipping because it is going to be cool. Anything else I shouldn%26#39;t miss while I am there that my kids might enjoy?
Savannah With Kids
For a restaurant, I%26#39;d suggest the Pirates House. Your kids would love the Pirate theme and the food is very good. The building is old with a lot of character and history.
Savannah With Kids
Sorry to piggyback on your topic, Jennifer. I also have a question relating to Savannah with kids. I%26#39;ll be there in a couple weeks with an 18 month old, and I%26#39;m wondering if there are spots in and around the historic downtown where we can stop for a breather. I understand there are some parks, but any good playgrounds, and any places that the particularly small set would enjoy visiting?
Thanks!
Every ';square'; (if you call them parks everyone knows you are a tourist) is a little green space with benches and most with fountains. They are pretty much every other block in all directions, in the HD.
There are no tide pools on Tybee, it is pure sand beach, lots of water though.
Forsyth park has a little playground, unfortunately the one designed for tiny kids is closed because of some construction adjacent. The older kids section, swings, slide etc is open though.
There is also a playground with a couple of picnic tables adjacent to Colonial Park Cemetary, which is a bit more centrally located. Off of Abercorn and Oglethorpe
