hiring a car in atlanta
Hi
I have found that www.netflights.co.uk give the best deal on car hire and it is best to book from the UK to make sure you get all the insurances you need in advance, some car companies will really push extra%26#39;s at high price%26#39;s once you are there. I have not picked up from ATL before but are doing so this May. We have gone with Thrifty, as was the best price, hopfully they will be alright. As far as I could see all the rental companies are bus pick up to their car lot%26#39;s.

While Thrifty is usually less expensive than most other companies, I have found that at least with the airport rental location you get what you pay for. The cars are older, cheaper and not as clean (expect a Kia), and the facilities are run down and further from the airport. I have found it understaffed too.
If renting from the airport, Avis has the nicest facilities and most convenient check-in. I like Enterprise as well, and generally use Enterprise most because of its prices. I have not used Hertz in Atlanta, but would expect it to be on par with Avis and Enterprise.
Hi
Oh dear, JAtlanta, I hope we don%26#39;t end up with rent-a wreck! We were told a Sebring or similar. The website we booked from offer the same deal with dollar or thrifty, just that thrifty were about 拢40 cheaper for supposidly the same car.

I wouldn%26#39;t be too worried. The car should be new and reasonably clean. It%26#39;s just that you might get a Kia or the like. The rental office at that Thrifty isn%26#39;t very nice but it is probably worth a small inconvenience to save so much money. My advice to emmauk is just that, price being equal, Thrifty would not be my first choice.
thanks so much for the help, I booked with Avis since I got a voucher from my BA flght booking and got quite a bargain for a 4x4 which we wanted for our long trip. looks like they have a 3minute check in - to the car which sounds perfect for our daughter!!!
I have hired with just about every bodge it and badge it company through africa and have never had anything that%26#39;s worse than my own car at home, I really wouldn%26#39;t worry at all.
Hi
Thanks for that, it is the fist time we have used Thrifty, we have in the past used Alamo,Dollar and Hertz and they have been fine. This year the prices have soared, we are paying the same or possibly a bit more for a mid size when we usually have a luxury or premium. We have had some really nice car%26#39;s before like a Park Avenue, wanted to take that one home!

If it is any consolation I have used Thrifty the last 3 times that I have travelled, just because they are a good deal cheaper than the anyone else. The car I have consistently gotten has been a Chrysler Sebring which is pretty decent. Most come in a convertible model if that is of any interest to you and always have been reliable, nice cars to drive.
Hi
Thanks moonlightmile, we have just booked a standard car, as long as it is reliable and preferable clean, that%26#39;s all we need.
