Saturday Night in Macon

Hello

I am on a music/civil war road trip and will be staying at the HI Express and would like a decent hangout in the city for a beer food and some tunes - preferably blues and rock. I would rather not drive can anyone suggest a place in the city that might fit the bill? I will be with my American girlfriend who has the same tastes and will be visiting the Music Hall of fame on the Sunday. Also to pay my respects to Duane Allman at Rose Hill.

Rose Hill is a must- Duane and Berry are laid to rest side by side, and it%26#39;s a beautiful place.

Sorry don%26#39;t know about Macon nightlife, only been to concerts there at the colisseum.

Your best bet for food, a few beers and some live music would be to hit the Rookery on Cherry Street its about 2-3 block from the music hall of fame. There used to be a rock/blues venue next door to the Rookery called Liz Reed%26#39;s not sure if its still there or not or if the music format has changed. Also if you want to meet the woman in charge of keeping Duane, Greg and the rest of the gang fed when they were young starving musicians go visit mama Louise over at H %26amp; H restarurant. It is also located right downtown.
