Hi All you helpful people....

Staying tonight at Stockbridge.....should we take I-75 or the bypass route in the morning....Hope to leave no later than 7am....earlier if possible....thx

Where are you headed -- farther north on I-75 or west on I-20? I guess in reality I%26#39;d say to take I-285 around in either case -- I-75 northbound into downtown Atlanta gets backed up fairly early and stays backed up until mid-morning. Taking I-285 may not save you entirely, however -- from the I-75 and I-675 split to I-285 is still ten miles, and traffic there%26#39;s not much lighter than inside I-285. Do leave earlier if you can, and before you head out, call 511 or hit the GA DOT site: http://www.georgia-navigator.com . Either of those will give you up-to-the-minute info on current conditions.

Oh, I forgot...someone where i was in Florida told me they always take I-75 all the way through and just stay in the car pool lane if during rush hour....is this of any benefit....???

Yes - although the HOV (high-occupancy vehicle) lanes can get backed up, too.
