I am looking for a great place to have my husband%26#39;s 40th birthday party in Atlanta. It is going to be in April and at the beginning of spring break, so a number of the guests probably won%26#39;t be able to make it because of vacations. I want a fabulous space and great food but with no minimum spend. Any suggestions?
Best place to have my husband's 40th birthday party?
This is such a wide open question that I am at a loss for any meaningful suggestions. How many guests will you have? Do you want a private room or a big table in the main dining area? What type of cuisine? What type of atmosphere - fancy, trendy, intimate? How much do you want to spend? Do you want this buffet style or to order from a menu? What neighborhood? Let us know a little more about your plans and we can give better recommendations.
Best place to have my husband's 40th birthday party?
I have the Glenn Hotel%26#39;s rooftop bar on hold right now, and it%26#39;s the exact kind of space I want for the party. BUT, they require a pretty high minimum spend; and my only concern is that if I don%26#39;t have everyone show up and I end up paying an extra $1000 or more, I%26#39;ll be pissed. I want heavy or%26#39;devours and open bar (can be beer %26amp; wine only, or totally open), depends on the price. I want it to be chic and swanky, but not formal. I would love to keep the price to about $2500 if I can. I%26#39;m inviting about 75, but expect about 40 because of the spring break date. Any other suggestions would be very helpful. I just want to know what other options I have. Thanks.
This is an absolutely serious request for information about OTHER places to have my husband%26#39;s party. As much as I love the Glenn (and I am NOT a shill for them), I would rather NOT have my party there because of the minimum spend requirement, and my probable guest issue during spring break.
So, if anyone has any legitimate suggestions about other spots for a great party, I%26#39;d appreciate them. I don%26#39;t want to pay thousands of dollars extra for 1/2 the number of people expected to attend.
I am not sure if this would suit you or not, but I thought it would not hurt to call. It has wonderful views of the city and can be reserved for special events. I do not know anything about cost, but here ya go...
It is called The View at King Plow Arts Center and it is on Marietta BLVD west of downtown.

Thank you so much. I will call later today!
I would have thought the Glenn would be cheaper, since you would get the employee discount.
before any one jumps on me for my rudeness, EVERY single post by this person has been about gemstone hotels (glenn %26amp; sax) in atlanta and chicago.
Believe me, I%26#39;m not jumping on you, MT. My post, similar to yours, was the one that asym got deleted, above. I expect our more recent ones will meet the same fate.
George,
Thank you for recommending The View at King Plow. I have called and left a message for them to call me back about the party. The gallery of photos are beautiful, I just hope the price is a good one. I really appreciate your help! I%26#39;ll let you know what they offer.
