Where to stay--Hotels or Bed and Breakfast Inns?

My Husband and I are going Savannah in mid May and are looking for a nice, reasonable place to stay in or near the downtown area of historic Savannah. We would appreciate any recommendations of a safe, clean and nice places to stay.

We would like to be close to the main section so that we can walk and see as much as possible.

Just about all the hotels and all of the B%26amp;Bs are in the historic district. Whether they are reasonable, depends on what you mean by the term. All have good reputations. Please read the reviews and previous posts that have asked the same question. You may find something that has been asked that answers your questions exactly.

The historic district is about one mile wide and a little over one mile long. So, you see, anything you find there will be close (meaning walkable) to the main section. Pick out something that appeals to you and then ask about them. There are simply too many, many, many for us to list them all.

Another idea, if you don%26#39;t find what you want, is the Midtown location. There are many hotels/motels that are less expensive. But you will need a car or be willing to ride the city buses to get to the historic district. Just look for ';Midtown'; in the address.
