Hello all!
I am getting married in September, and I would like to have my wedding somewhere in Savannah. It is going to be a small, intimate affair, with only 20 to 30 people. Does anybody have an idea of an AFFORDABLE place I could have my reception? I%26#39;ve been looking at inns, but the ones I%26#39;ve looked at seem expensive. We are trying not to spend loads of money on the reception (especially when it%26#39;s only a small group of people!) so we can have an extra nice honeymoon.
Thanks!
Small wedding reception??
My son had his reception at the Bamboo farm. It is outside which September is great for. Just a roof and picnic tables, on concrete but has bathrooms and a kitchen. It is maybe 20 minutes from downtown.
It is rustic but pretty and inexpensive.
There is a new building downtown, maybe you can google it, I think it is called the Morris center, just a big meeting room next to the Pirates House.
Small wedding reception??
I%26#39;m not sure of the price but I would also check the Round House. I been to a couple of small weddings receptions there and they were very nice.
If you send me an e-mail throug the the message center, I%26#39;ll tell you how to have a reception in the Gazebo in the middle of the lake at City-owned Daffin Park. It%26#39;s VERY inexpensive to rent and a beautiful venue to choose in Sept. Spouting fountains on each side, plenty of parking in the park, beautiful in the early autumn. My kids%26#39; reception was there and it was incredibly lovely and very affordable.
SavannahMame, my email is valibu26@yahoo.com. I am definitely interested in the Gazebo wedding reception, as I have a small wedding as well.
Here%26#39;s how we found a Great Wedding Planner!
Jeff and I met at a Cinco de Mayo party. About a month after we began dating, we became engaged.
I have always loved Savannah and Jeff wanted a beach wedding, so Savannah Beach would be perfect. We could still venture into the romantic city during the weekend, while enjoying the beach life.
I wasn%26#39;t sure where to begin, as planning a wedding can be difficult enough, much less in a city four hours south of our hometown. I started looking on-line and found RomanticSavannahWeddings.com and Ms. Nancy Hillis replied for our first conversation, I am happy to have I trusted her to handle my special day. Nancy did such an amazing job taking care of everything from getting the beach permit, reserving our reception hall at the historic Ft Screven, the catering for the reception, providing the photographer, D.J., cake and centerpieces, while keeping our budget in mind throughout. I never knew planning a wedding could be such a stress free event!
Finally, our big day came. I remember walking into the reception hall and being speechless. The food was well presented and delicious and our shell and pearl cake was prettier than the picture. Nancy had really outdone herself. Our five bridesmaids and five groomsmen stood watching while 100 of our closest friends and family sat on white chairs draped with starfish. With the beautiful Georgia coast right in front of us, we said our ';I do%26#39;s'; that 16th day of August, 2008.
The celebration began with wine and champagne flowing freely. Our D.J. was wonderful and everyone was on the dance floor. Whenever we took breaks to cool down, we would go out on the Fort鈥檚 balcony to talk and laugh with friends and enjoy the scenery. With the lighthouse to our left and the ocean, providing its cool breeze, was to our right as everyone spoke of our beautiful and fun wedding. If we had one day to relive for the rest of our lives, it would be this day. This was our best day
Thank You Nancy Hillis at www.RomanticSavannahWeddings.com
