Like several other posters, we are planning a summer trip to do the Atlanta family activities. With young children we too are looking for a suite hotel and Midtown has been recommended by locals as well as on TA.
I often see Regency Suites, Residence Inn and Best Western Granada Suites recommended. However, I have found what appears to be a good deal for Marriott Suites in Midtown but never see it recommended here. It seems to get good reviews. Is there something I%26#39;m missing?
Suite hotels in Midtown
I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s that there%26#39;s anything particularly wrong with the Marriott Suites. The BW Granada Suites is more visible and visually distinctive. Residence Inn is a brand most of us who travel a lot are familiar with, so it readily comes to mind and there are two of them in Midtown. If you see a good deal on the Marriott Suites, and the room configuration works for you, go for it.
The thing I%26#39;d point out with both Regency and Marriott Suites is that the rooms are typically a single large (queen or king) bed and a sofabed. With our three kids, especially as the older two close in on being teenagers, that doesn%26#39;t get it for us anymore. So we end up gravitating to Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, SpringHill Suites, or Residence Inns, because we can get a room at any of those with at least two double beds plus a sofabed, as well as a door between the bed/living areas. I don%26#39;t think the Regency Suites has any sort of division between the main sleeping area and the sofabed; not sure about Marriott Suites.
