I am staying in a condo downtown this weekend on the corner of Peachtree and Baker. Are there any grocery stores or wineshops that I can walk or Marta to, or do I need to get a taxi? I am looking for fresh veggies, milk, eggs, decent wine etc. Y%26#39;all were so great at advising me on my last trip - I stayed in Midtown and it was just what I was looking for. This time I needed a kitchen (longer stay/eating healthy) and to be closer to GWCC. I am hoping being downtown won%26#39;t be too bad - I figure the Hyatt is across the street and the Marta is a few blocks away in the P tree Cntr, so I can take the train to Midtown for dinner - it is not too bad at night for those few blocks, is it? Thanks again.
Grocery and wine stores
Yes, you can take MARTA to the Arts Center Station, and then take the free shuttle to Atlantic Station, which has a Publix for groceries, and Grape, which has an excellent wine selection.

Another option is to take MARTA to the midtown station and walk to the Publix on Sprint and 8th. It%26#39;s close to Mac%26#39;s, a liquor store with a good wine selection. macsbeerandwine.com鈥?/p>
For a better wine selection you can get off at the North Ave station, and walk to Eno/Barrelman.

Think you can also take the train to the east, there is a Kroger Shopping Center at the intersection of Moreland Avenue and Dekalb Avenue -- maybe the inman station ?
Edgewood isn%26#39;t a bad idea. You would access that Kroger from the Candler Park station. You could take the southern exit from the station, and take a right onto on LaFrance Street, which curves around to Caroline St which takes you to the Edgewood shopping center. Generally this is a ';developing'; area which has expensive houses and condos, but borders a more transitional area. I would be a little hesitant about making this walk late at night.
