We will be arriving on a Thursday afternoon and want to take advantage of the late hours at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Will be staying at the Best Western Granada Hotel. Is it a safe walk to and from the Gardens after 6pm?
Walking to Botanical Gardens
You shouldn%26#39;t have any problems with street crime. You%26#39;re actually in more danger from cars, as there%26#39;s not really a pedestrian-friendly route (you can cut through the residential neighborhood between Peachtree and Piedmont, along 15th Street or 16th St/Westminster/The Prado to avoid most of the 14th Street/Piedmont Ave traffic). I wouldn%26#39;t worry about walking it, however -- I%26#39;d do it.
Walking to Botanical Gardens
I would walk this with no qualms. It will be a bit of a hike but not too bad. Gorgeous neighborhood to walk thru but be sure to bring a map as the roads in Ansley Park are very windy.
Thank you very much. Just the info I needed. Will make sure we have a map. We are looking forward to the Gardens -especially the collection of carnivorous plants.
