I will be attending a concert at the Gwinnett Centre...if anyone can provide some basic information about Duluth, it would be most appreciated...thanks again, Sinead
PS What is Duluth like?
It%26#39;s a big suburb of a big city. Gwinnett County, where the arena is located, has about 700,000 people these days. There%26#39;s really no clear distinction when you enter or leave one suburban municipality and enter another (Duluth to Suwanee, or Suwanee to Johns Creek, for example) -- they all sort of blend together. There%26#39;s a large mall and plenty of chain restaurants and hotels in the immediate vicinity of Gwinnett Area, which is quite close to I-85.
PS What is Duluth like?
Duluth is your typical suburb. You can expect it to be clean and safe and generally affluent. It doesn%26#39;t really have anything that%26#39;s unique or a tourist attraction but will have all of the conveniences. Whenever I go to a concert there, I like to have drinks at Vreny%26#39;s/Kurt%26#39;s beforehand.

It%26#39;s a nice departure from the box stores and chain restaurants in that area.
rack, i hope you%26#39;re talking about The Mall of Georgia, i wouldn%26#39;t tell an enemy to go in Gwinnett Place mall these days.
I was actually talking about Discover Mills, which is just across I-85 from the Gwinnett Arena area.
Do you like ethnic food? Duluth is a great area for Asian and other restaurants. Saigon Cafe is my favorite pho place (Vietnamese soup). Athens Pizza Kitchen has good Greek/Mediterranean food. We used to live closer to Duluth and ate there regularly but haven%26#39;t in the last few years. Those places might be closed.
The traffic around Gwinnett Place Mall is outrageous now. Discover Mills is a good suggestion.
