First of all, I do not smoke but I am planning on visiting Savannah with my significant other and my aunt. My aunt smokes. Is there any hotels in the historic district that still have smoking rooms or will allow smoking on a balcony if they have one? I will have a separate room from her. I%26#39;m sure most of the B%26amp;Bs are smoke free. Also, are most of the restaurants smoke free or do they allow smoking. I need to tell her so she will know up front. I am hoping she quits by then but I seriously doubt it.
Hotels - Smoking
Most higher-end hotels have a strict no-smoking policy inside the rooms, and many will charge you a $200 ';fine'; if they find that you did smoke in your room. Some will allow smoking on the grounds or on the balcony. You will be able to find lower end hotels that allow smoking in the room, but she really shouldnt do that, especially if you are sharing a room. I am a smoker, but I never smoke indoors, especially in small hotel rooms.
Hotels - Smoking
Only bars, that do not allow minors in, allow smoking in Savannah, restaurants are no smoking areas.
What most people do is go to restaurants with outside seating, the outside tables have become the smoking area.
Catherine Ware House allows smoking on the back deck and front porch. If you book the Jim Williams room, you will have a door that goes directly to the back deck without having to go through the rest of the house.
