Any place in or near the Historic District that cane serve up quality shell fish? Like oysters and clams?
Oysters %26amp; Clams
You can get oysters at nearly every seafood place, but we locals know that late March is the end of good oyster season. We won%26#39;t order or buy them again until late October, preferably November when it turns cooler and the oysters have grown and have become seasoned with the local waters.
What you%26#39;ll be served now are small, without a lot of taste. And they%26#39;re probably not local.

Thanx Fog, having grown up on the Great South Bay and it%26#39;s environs, home of the famous Blue Point oyster, I am aware of the don eat in any month that doesn%26#39;t have R in it, but in this new day and age of aquaculture, some old habits die hard but they die!
Just in from a local restaurant that served some great Pacific oysters and was just wondering if Savannah is doing the same. Again appreciate your input. See y%26#39;all on Monday.
i agree it is to late for the good oysters. There are plenty of seafood places on River Street that will have them. My office used to be overloooking the rivver and I knew all the good places on the river. I do not get done there much any more and places change. Fidler%26#39;s and Tubby%26#39;s us to have good food. So did the oyster bar.
