We have to go trolley vs. walking, and my daughter typically enjoys evening haunted tours?

Can anyone recommend a particular company to go with as I%26#39;ve seen several haunted tours advertised?

There are two problems with answering this question: one is that the tours are pretty different, meaning that the aim and focus of each company is disparate. What I mean by this is that some purport to be paranormal experts (and usually aren%26#39;t), and others want to either tell you documented history or simply spin a good yarn. What is it that you want from your tour experience?

The second problem is that this board in the past has been rife with imposters simply seeking self-promotion (tour owners or guides posing as satisfied patrons, etc.). The majority of the experts on this board are going to be reticent to answer such questions lest they set off the hornet%26#39;s nest again.

I will instead urge you to seek out information from each company%26#39;s websites beforehand or from their brochures once you are in town. These are easily obtainable from the Visitor%26#39;s Center.

Everyone%26#39;s expectations are different. My perfect tour is one laden with a load of real history and verifiable facts; others are bored to tears by this and want the tour version of the haunted hayride, complete with blacklight-illuminated trolley or hearse. I%26#39;m not pushing either one until I know what you want from your tour experience.

Well, I don%26#39;t mind some moderate theatrics as I think that is usually unavoidable on haunted tours...but I really would like to hear some actual history and as many sites as possible. It will partly be to enjoy a fun night out... but not looking for a silly show with no substance whatsoever.

So... any suggestions? (and yes, I will go to the tour sites and do some digging) thanks
